Tube holders and float attachments for Zodiac RIB

Zodiac tube holder attachment RIB are part of Zodiac’s patented, removable float system. This system makes it possible to completely remove and replace the float when it is worn, damaged, or outdated.

The main connection between the float and the polyester hull is the welt connection, also known as a slide-in string. On larger Zodiac RIBs, this connection is supplemented with an additional attachment point at the rear: the tube holders.

Attachment of the Zodiac tube

On virtually all Zodiac RIBs, the tube is pulled into the rail of the polyester hull with a strong welt. This provides:

  • a stable connection
  • a tight fit
  • the possibility of maintenance and replacement

On larger models, such as PRO, PRO OPEN, MEDLINE and Yachtline, there is an additional attachment at the rear in the form of tube holders. These are placed in a recess on the top of the hull and secure the tube, even under heavier conditions.

Possible causes of damage

Damaged or torn tube holders can occur when:

  • the tube is used with insufficient air pressure
  • the boat is heavily loaded
  • parts are outdated
  • the attachment is incorrectly installed

Too low a pressure in the float can cause additional stress on the attachment points.

Correct installation and material selection

For a safe and durable attachment, it is important that:

  • the float is kept at the correct pressure
  • the tube holders are correctly placed in the recess
  • damaged parts are replaced in time
  • the correct material is chosen (PVC or Neoprene Hypalon)

Zodiac uses PVC or Neoprene Hypalon for floats. The tube holders must be made of the same material as the float.
